Born Alma Reubens in San Francisco, she was a popular silent film star. Some of her films include: "The Birth of a Nation" (1915) (uncredited), "Reggie Mixes In" (1916), "The Half Breed" (1916), "The Firefly of Tough Luck" (1917), "The Price She Paid" (1924), "A Woman's Faith" (1925), and "Show Boat" (1929). Sadly, she died at 33 of pneumonia after a long struggle
