Also shown are wounded soldiers being taken down the Matanakau River. On the side on a log, is the three foot long lizard that Brodie was enthralled by. The Guadalcanal Campaign, also known as the Battle of Guadalcanal, was fought in the Pacific theatre of World War II from August 7, 1942, to February 9, 1943 around the island of
