Here is a wonderful 22" strand of what was originally a white Dutch bead circa late 1700s which was then altered in Africa to suite local aesthetics

Center bead is 28mm square

It is 5 inches long

this shows the varieties I carried in my retail store

there may some some chipping due to handling over the years and the wire may be brittle

Ancient Roman Glass, Afghanistan telsum Here is a wonderful 22"16" strand of ancient Roman period glass pieces cut and drilled as beads. Over 2000 years old from various excavations in Afghanistan. A variety of colors, these large round flat disc shaped pendants range from 14mm diameter to 40mm for the center bead, with small saucers in between. Hole is quite small, about . 8mm. Glass is thin and transparent. This ancient glass has calcification and patina.
