Up until a few years ago, any judgement concerning the creative personality of Platti was based exclusively upon an analysis of his sonatas for harpsichord, together with a handful of his other works. This fact contributed to the inclusion of this composer from the Veneto in the company of so called 'minor' composers of the eighteenth century, such names as G. B. Pescetti, D. Alberti, M. Vento, F. Pellegrini, G.
