I'm not even sure what quite is missing from this old tramp chest--I guess another drawer and corresponding pieces on the side and top

Sold as found in case (missing opposite side) which measures 3 3/4" x 3 1/4 and shows wear around the edges but is in pretty good

and so much wonder how it came to be

I assume Samuel Joseph was a student when he did it

Carved Mexican Carnival Mask in Bold Red and Blue Paint writer's box Sections include "MrThis mask, Mexican I believe, and I think likely Guerrero, is all about the red and sky blue paint for me great color, great surface, and surely we all need a second pair of eyes. I believe the red indicates it as a Moor mask, used in dances representing fighting between the Christians and the Moors (Muslims). It appears to have been worn and with a good bit of age to it, with remnants of string at the temples on the back. 6" t x 4 3 8" measured
