Rémi Sédès, Samplemousse , Coteaux d'Ancenis, Loire, France, 2023 115 on leaving viticultural schoolRmi is originally from Jura but, after studying agronomy, settled in the Loire with his wife whose family is from Nantes. Part of the joy of winemaking for Rmi is the opportunity to work in the outdoors, using Shire horses in the vineyards and doing a lot of work on his 5 hectares of vines by hand. He grows mainly Gamay, more usually associated with Beaujolais, though also planted widely in this part of the Loire where the granitic soils help control
