This is a service worn, possibly "battlefield pick up" condition example of a totally original WWI German M16 Helmet shell, which still retains some of the original green paint on the interior. The stamped, sheet steel construction, helmet shows pitting and rust on the exterior, with an almost total loss of the original finish, and even shows some small holes where rust has gone through to the interior.
