and the Ordnance flaming bomb is embossed on the hinge end

the wood of which forms a strong backing to the steel point

cut from a single piece of material in such manner that warp and weft are both at an angle of 45 degrees to the long axis of the panel

Made at the great arsenal at ERFURT just outside Berlin this extremely rare pre WW1 bayonet is marked on the back of the blade with a Crown over W, over 02. It is further marked with a Crown over ERFURT on the ricasso and the cross guard which has the early horns is nicely regimentally marked R. 2. P. 3. 75. No scabbard came with this "sleeper" which we just received from an estate auction. It is still in untouched
