The M1912 Ration Bags were part of the failed experimental Model 1912 Cavalry Web Gear. The kit consisted of two bags that were used to carry rations and tools pertaining to the soldier and horse itself. The two bags lace together and can actually be worn on the back with the spring clips attached to the pistol belt. While these bags served to be rather impractical for the cavalry, they found a new home amongst the
