but no other marking

It has seen significant use

The Germans were taken prisoner and the submarine taken under tow when Royal Navy ships subsequently arrived on the scene

WWII Army Air Forces "Flight Surgeon" Badge, usually called "Wings". There were a multitude of different manufactures of the various flight badges, and many did not mark the badges made. These however are clearly marked on the back with STERLING 12C in the center. This is the maker mark used by Coro (Cohn & Rosenberger) of New York, NY and Provenance, RI. The Winged 'Caduceus'
