This is a very nice original German WWII War Merit Cross 2nd Class (KvK II) with swords

with a nicely patinated finish on all of the metal components

though it is possible that it was fitted when it was converted

though this is probably just due to the unit being renamed

and a nice "puggaree" wrapping around it
