This fine martial flintlock pistol falls right between the Model of 1756 with the "rounded" brass elongated side plate, and the Model 1777 with the "flat" elongated side plate together with a belt hook. Clearly a transitional model very likely shipped to Boston with the Irish Garrison that occupied the city during the early years of the American Revolutionary War.
