This is a fantastic example of an extremely rare and period original painted M38 Gas Mask canister, as used by German troops during the various campaigns of WWII. This example has remnants of a gorgeous green yellow camouflage paint scheme, which was typical for troops stationed in Normandy, France, but was also used in other regions. The paint is retaiend roughly 40% retained. The carry case is a Long Model 1938
