This is a classic French flintlock pistol manufactured exclusively for the French Navy by the royal arsenal at TULLE and marked on the lock plate Mre. Nle. De Tulle. This model continued in production and in service well into the Napoleonic wars. Missing steel ramrod and belt hook at sometime removed, this pistol bears a minimal of personalized decoration in the form of minor silver wire inlay to the rear of the grip
