and the Barbary Dove--all of which this rendering manages to make seem highly exotic

chip-carved layers at the front right corner are gone (I used a Sharpie to darken the the exposed wood to make the losses a little more subtle

looking like someone's very hard-trying effort to write in cursive script

and hand-drawn graphite decoration too

I've come to recognize standard programs of drawing exercises for grade school students during various decades, and have had one other chair drawing of a similar ilk to this one, which I believe was part of the program during that period, an exercise in perspective I believe. I love it very much as a stand alone drawing one
