I love the cutout edges on this one

so a liner or a smaller vessel set inside would be needed

sound and stable

I also find it both excellent and amusing that all of this skill and labor was applied to creating a whimsy that houses just one smallish ball inside

but overall good condition with the drawings clear and dark and very readable

Lacquered Papier Mache Snuff Box dansk teak coasters I love the cutout edgesI'm so often struck by the playful the use of language on 19th century objects, from snuff to Battersea boxes, and on transferware pottery, too. This snuff box I believe dates to the 1820s or so, as I've found a few other examples with gold text of a similar ilk, and I especially love seeing the use of "Holla" on this one! Pretty fun. 2 7 8" x 1 3 4" x 3 4". Good condition, with a little surface lost on the face, as evident. Great structural condition.
