Long Hair, Brush Raised, Book in Hands, Wonderful 19th Century Naive Graphite Drawing pyrographed with detailing at the cuffI purchased this drawing from the great Chuck Auerbach, who had a handful by the same maker, I believe together representing a series of vignettes from the life of the young woman here having her hair brushed. What I love most here is the hairbrush raised mid air, just before landing, so as to expose all those spiky bristles and really it looks almost like a weapon! Lovely details throughout, from the striped sleeves of the sitter, leading straight to
