or a bird of paradise would be pretty fabulous in it too

1 3/8" across at opening and 2 3/4" across at base

with carved reamer and turned handle terminating in a great fat rounded end

Such a wonderfully expressive face, I'd be inclined to give a name to this guy and talk to him like friend (or therapist!) C. 1960s 70s I believe, painted papier mache, strung for hanging. 13" x 8 5 8" and in good condition, with a couple of small dings as documented.
