I'd guess this plaque was awarded to the lifetime employee of some business or corporation to mark four decades of service

Made in Czechoslovakia in the 1920s or so and gorgeously decorated

and people gathered there in the evenings to tell stories and sing songs

Two Sweet Carved Birds blue body and also a bit likeThese two were carved by the same maker and I really like the way they sit together, so am selling them as a pair. I'd think the one on the right is meant to be a dove, and I should know but am not sure about the one at left, which appears to have a small crest and a slightly hooked beak. Both done without a lot of fuss, and I think quite lovely in their simplicity. Not super old but with some years on them for sure, with a bit of warming to their dry
