This is an exceptional example of a genuine British Mark II steel helmet that is dated 1939 on the shell, and 1942 on the liner. It was sold to Norway post war, and then stripped and repainted for the Norwegian Civil Defense. The stamping on the underside of the rim reads: E 1 1 1 B [M B] 1939 The partially obscured BMB stands for Briggs Motor Bodies Ltd of Dagenham, who manufactured Brodie Shells from 1939 to 1943
