Clark was from Chicago, Illinois, and served for 14 months in France. The canteen cup is entirely covered in Clarks travel diary, and on the side he engraved the Gaalic Rooster with U. S. A. A. S. under it, for the United States Army Ambulance Service. Clark likely spent time
