The steel is clearly bent inwards on the rear and outwards on the front

along with 11th Bomb Squadron which was being formed at the same time

The sword is nice but rather crude, and has a lower marker brass Pattern 1822 hilt, with a likely replaced lacquered wood grip with grooves that once had twisted wire.
