This is a standard M1910 aluminum canteen made in 1918 and stamped on the reverse U. S. ACA 1918. However, this is not just an ordinary canteen but a canvas for a very skilled (and bored) engraver (soldier) who had lots of down time in the trenches during the Great War. The front side reads: LA BELLE NUIT It features a naked woman laying down provocatively, a bottle of wine and an empty glass. The reverse shows the
