This is a very interesting Spencer Model 1860 Civil War Carbine with Serial number of 18347, indicating 1864 manufacture. It is in very nice condition, and functions great with decent bore: clear lands and grooves with mostly bright finish. Metal finish is good with a great patina of age. From Spencer's initial order for 7,500 Carbines, 7,000 were supplied by December 1863 and the balance in early 1864. With renewed
