Where "Fever to Tell" and "Maps" dealt with the awkwardness of falling love, "Show Your Bones" deals with the heartbreak that follows. The songs are subdued, the lyrics cryptic, but their softness is strong "Dudley" has influences from Sonic Youth; "Cheated Hearts" is a big ballad. "Mysteries" has a punk bite to it
