It appears to have been used as a  reference for a "Eskimo Art" exhibition at Northwest Michigan College in 1979

Handmade Ceramic Converse Checkerboard All Star High Top phyrography 4 3/8" tallI don't know whether it was an artist or a very dedicated high schooler who made this full sized Converse sneaker, but I'm glad they did, and think it's just the right mix of sloppy and attentive to detail. The clay laces are threaded through the eye holes, there's a white logo patch on one side and "All Star" incised into the heel, and then Converse spelled out on the interior or the shoe. Plus the great black and white checkered patten faithfully
