The gaine and the striker housing were identical in external appearance and were screwed into the sides of the cylindrical fuze body in diametrically opposite positions

with only a few scrapes and minor cracking along the seam

but the Marines weren't ready to concede just yet

The dome stamp in this helmet is difficult to read but partially clear and reads “_ _ 65”

It is made of black leather, and still retains the contents listed on the interior side of the flap. There are no contents in the bag.
