A little research lead me to discover that this drawing must have been made after a woodcut first published as a plate in Thomas Hood's Whims and Oddities: in prose and verse
minor staining and fading to (what is now) a very pale blue watercolored background
the white paint against the smooth dark wood reads almost as silver
in the original green box
Antique Linen Pincushion with Wonderful Bobbin Lace Woman 1903 This tabletop sculpture of aWhat a lot of love went into this one, and what a lot of love and use it appears to have seen, which of course makes it feel all the more precious to me. Two layers of yellow fabric, the top one a (now) pale yellow linen, with this wonderful needle bobbin lace hatted woman at the center, hands on hips, with marvelous tiny fingers. 3 7 8" x 3 5 8" not including tassels. Surface fading and darkening buy no holes or issues, all seams tightly hand sewn,
