There are small pin holes in the top two corners

Really beautifully made (this piece reminds me very much of the work of Anderson Design Studio in Maine) with a resist technique used for the surface decoration I believe

There is some old cloth tape stuck to the underside of the lid I have not tried to remove

and he's still got his pull string wrapped around his neck
