The box measures 6" long x 3 1/4" wide x 7/8" thick and each walnut measures 1 5/8"long x 1 3/8" wide x 5/8" tall

including for a big bowl of ice cream with cake on the side

and a bit of cracking to the surface of the lacquer on the bottom of the interior tray

but I am not entirely certain of its age

With these white spatters on his face, coat and pants, I like to think of him as an artist (perhaps a self portrait), though he also looks a bit as if he might be just in from a long day fishing out in the rain or snow.
