This is a very nice service worn example of a Remington New Model Army Percussion Revolver, with a lovely patina from age and use. It does not look to have had the finish on the metalwork redone at any time, but the grips are definitely replacements, with the right side having a nice "lip" on the top. Like all New Models, it is a . 44 caliber percussion, 6 shot single action revolver, with an 8 inch octagon barrel.
