Fences (Agriculture), Striking and Poignant c. 1820 Engraving, Abraham Rees, London Chinese painting of worker Much aged as evidentThis engraving of twelve different examples of agricultural fences came from The Cyclopaedia or Universal Dictionary of Arts, Sciences & Literature published by Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme & Brown, London, in 1820. I just think they're completely beautiful things, each and every one, and all the more together. And what a whole lot of history and resonance rolled up into a fence. Excellent. 10 5 8" x 8 1 2" and in very good antique condition. Blank
