I believe it is a boy at left in blue skirt and marvelously striped socks

Composed of cut bits of white-cream paper adhered to red construction paper

and there is nice all over cracking to the surface of the  bark on the back

which appear never to have been handled at all

As evident, there is some fading and loss to the the embroidery, which depicts a figure in green parka, blue pants and black boots on a green sled pulled by a brown dog iconic Grenfell Mission imagery but I'm quite charmed by it still.
