this one slightly smaller and not quite as heavy as the first

as documented and scattered spotting/toning--consistent with it being almost 200 years old

Marbling on top of Marbling: Antique Ironstone Cup Lekythos " I have seen aThis antique cup, ironstone I believe, is actually one of my favorite recent finds, to my mind constituting "art without intent" for the manner in which crazing to the ceramic has produced this fine network of rust colored lines that run between and among the blue marbled lines patterning the cup, evocative of veins and capillaries inside a body, or fault lines in the earth. That pattern of shaky blue lines is pretty fantastic to begin with and just
