This is a very nice genuine U. S. M1887 sling. It was constructed as a one piece sling not the stitched 2 piece type with brass double claw hook on one end and a brass stud button on the other. Comes with only 1 of the 3 keeper loops. This sling was designed for use on the Springfield Trapdoor and Krag rifles. The middle of the sling is maker and inspector marked: ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL 1903 H. E. K. Condition of the
