This is a very interesting pocket bible that likely belonged to James Frederick Carper, either being taken overseas or kept by his sister, Mary, whose name is in the front with a date of January 23rd, 1918. As James left for France in July 1918, its possible she gifted this to him before he left, and received it back with his personal belongings.
