I really like the size and relative simplicity and humility of this old tramp art frame

with some holes in the stocking testifying to some moths or something nibbling away at it at some point--unless it was a hole-y stocking to begin with

with the red painted flourished on front reminding me of painted lips about to deliver a kiss

I think this one would make a great frame for an old painting on board

and earlyish 19th c

With apples from the garden of Hesperides in his very large hand, which makes them look the size of walnuts:) and the skin of the Nemean lion
