A very rare 4th Marines grouping from a soldier that served before and during World War Two in the Pacific Theater and China

There is a dent on both sides towards the bottom of the scabbard

meaning it was military issue (not civilian) and is clearly stamped on the reverse:

Even though the cutlasses were normally accompanied by leather scabbards

and Central Europe for its service in World War II
