He is named in From Normandy to Leipzig the History of the 690th Field Artillery Battalion, 1943 1945. He joined the army and was honorably discharged in 1946. He was awarded a Bronze Star and both his medal and citation are included in this set. His citation reads: 22 June 1945 AWARD
