He studied at the Academy of St Luke under his father, Salomon Corrodi, and also spent time in Paris in 1872. Corrodi received commissions for history paintings from the British royal family and was friends with many European royals, including Queen Victoria. He traveled extensively in the Far East, including Egypt, Syria, Cyprus, and Istanbul, which
