I'm pretty sure I remember this Edward Koren drawing from when it appeared as a  New Yorker cartoon some years ago

There are two buckles to the wood on the top of the chest

but the blocks themselves are in great shape--nice patina but very little paint loss

Italian Salesman Sample Hiking Boots, A Pair yorkshire pig Iron and brassI found these in Vermont, which seems as likely a place as anywhere to find a pair of salesman sample hiking boots! A faint stamp on the sole of one indicates they were made in Italy which also makes sense, as who makes better shoes, or boots, than the Italians! The level of craftsmanship on these is pretty outstanding, down to the metal clinkers tricounis around the soles, distinguishing them as mountain boots, c. 1930s 40s I believe. Each approx 3 7
