Dating to approximately 1700, this is an iron mounted Holster Pistol with a 13 1 2" barrel, giving the pistol an overall length of 20 1 2". It features a rounded flintlock hammer, which were obsoleted by style in French Gun design about 1710. There is a grotesque mask on the iron butt cap, with long spurs either side. The open work lock side plate the stock is carefully carved and sculpted. Complete with early style
