This is an excellent example of the Model 1891 Argentine Mauser carbine, one of many "export" models made for foreign governments, all based on the Mauser Model 1889. These carbines were used by the Argentine Cavalry, known as Granaderos a Caballos (Horse Grenadiers). This is definitely one of the better examples we have seen, and the markings have been highlighted in white to make them easier to read. This example,
