You might guess from all of the antique penmanship notebooks I post that I wish we would go back to handwriting letters using a pen and ink

and there is a signature carved into one handle

A bit of bleed/burn to the ink on a couple of names but overall dark

I will ship rolled--which is how I received it

Monogrammed in ink at lower left, and "Boston" at lower right. And it was in Boston that I found it. C. 1830s 40s I believe, and a lovely gift if ever I saw one. 7 7 8" x 4 13 16". Very good antique condition, color just gorgeous.
