In his lifetime (1884 1895), the dog was known as Nipper; it was as the subject of a painting by British artist Francis Barraud that he later became an icon, ear to gramophone, as the RCA Victor dog, with Victor appearing on one side of his base here. And seems like he's really listening now when I talk to him! Very sweet. C. 1920s I
