This is a beautiful finely and tightly woven grass sewing basket that I believe is Native American and dates to the very late 19th or very early 20th century
and then glazed this fantastic matte green
to its attached wooden snout detailed with red nose holes and mouth
This version is not as finely carved as those astounding pieces
There is something so satisfying to me about old handmade wooden boxes that close alone an angled edge like this
Gorgeous Rusty Woven Iron Antique Trivet Hediao This is a beautiful finelyI am completely obsessed with this thing, which I believe is a trivet, woven I'd guess 150 years ago or so of iron strips of varying lengths and widths, folded over at the ends to hold it together. Between the overall form, the pattern and texture of the woven strips, and the variegated color of the now well rusted iron, I find it just an exquisitely beautiful thing that I would hang on the wall straight away, and consider as a sculpture and painting
