United Kingdom. A First War Distinguished Conduct Medal, Un-Named Auction Archive WWII Canadian Third Division PhotoGeorge V, Type I in Field Marshall's uniform. In silver, measuring 36. 5 mm in diameter, contact marks evident on both sides, original ribbon with pinback, the catch on the pinback having broken off, very fine. Footnote: The Distinguished Conduct Medal was instituted on December 4, 1854 and was discontinued in 1993, replaced by the Conspicuous Gallantry Cross. It was awarded to other ranks for acts of gallantry in action, the recipients to use the
