Germany, Third Reich. An Order Of The German Eagle, V Class Cross With Swords, By C.f. Zimmermann Auction Archive Third class in bronze(Verdienstorden vom Deutschen Adler). Instituted 1 May 1937. (1943 1945 issue). Constructed of gilded silver with enamels, consisting of a Maltese Cross with white enameled arms, each quadrant joined together by a double sided gilt NSDAP style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika on a white enameled disc, the obverse three and nine oclock arms overlaid by crossed gilt swords, the twelve oclock arm with an integral fan suspension
