Japan, Empire. An Order Of The Rising Sun, I Class Grand Cordon Star, C.1910 United Republic of Vernons Pools Ltd( Kyokujitsu sh). Instituted in 1875 by Emperor Meiji. A finely manufactured star, consisting of eight arms, each composed of three individual rays with pebbled fields and smooth borders, obverse centre presenting a white enameled, multiple ray sun burst with red glass cabochon, reverse with dual stays and principle pin assembly, measuring 91 mm (w) x 89 (h), with enamel loss to white enamels, toned silver, good fine. This offering is a part of the
