Constructed of light bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, affixed to a feinzink backplate with a horizontal pinback, the obverse bearing a raised mounted Teutonic knight wielding a lance and shield, topped by years 1181 1919 in Roman numerals, above an inscription of NAER OOSTLAND WILLEN WY RYDEN (WE WANT TO RIDE TO THE EAST), the reverse bearing the central raised
